Sunset Shelf.
A wide rock shelf at the water's edge that faces straight into the evening.
Sunset Shelf ends in a broad, smooth slab of rock a metre or two above the water, warm underfoot by late afternoon and pointed at the place the sun goes down. Firs frame it on both sides.
Behind the shelf the lot climbs through open forest to a building site with a long view down the lake.
